Geometry – Area of Polygons

In this lesson we will learn:
- Introduction to Area: Measuring how much space is inside a shape
- Rectangle area: Discover the formula for the area of a rectangle
- Parallelogram area: Discover the formula for the area of a parallelogram
- Triangle area: Discover a formula for the area of any triangle
- Trapezoid area: Discover the formula for the area of a trapezoid
- Rhombus area: Find a rhombus' area using its diagonals
Area is the number of unit squares that fit inside.
Trapezoid is a quadrilateral where at least one pair of opposite sides are a parallel.
Rhombus is a quadrilateral whose sides all have the same length or has four congruent sides.
Parallelogram is a quadrilateral with two pairs of parallel sides.
Rectangle is a quadrilateral with four congruent angles.
In a triangle, sum of the measures of the interior angles is equal to 180 degrees.
